At 11 years old, I read a book about hypnosis, and I was enthralled. The idea that a mind could transform itself was exciting even to my young self. Using the little information I had, I hypnotized my first subject at 17 years old. It was a spontaneous past life regression that truthfully scared me a little bit since I had no training. In the following years, I continued to read what materials crossed my path and fostered a belief that I would ultimately study hypnosis and become certified later in life—much later. In this time, I would occasionally hypnotize subjects with the goal of transformation in mind using the few tools I had garnered from books and life experience. Although I now do not believe that hypnosis is a “talent,” I do believe that I have a natural proclivity for it. I was also very attracted to the alternative healing arts and had sought transformation by acupuncture, massage, supplements, spiritual paths, homeopathy, food plans and various other modalities.
I experienced quite a bit of trauma as a child and had some recurring patterns of feelings of depression and anxiety that were being addressed to a point with conventional Western treatments. At some point of my life, I resigned myself to believing how I felt was the best it was going to be. To be honest, life was good on the outside. I had a great job making six figures, and a stable home with the support of my family. I just did not feel good most of the time. There were periods when my internal life was still very hard and consequently, there were times I really struggled but I thought that that was my lot in life. Then we all experienced the devastation of 2020.
Thankfully my biggest loss was financial but that was enough for me to take stock and consider what was really important to me. Although I was passionate about my former career, my true passion (and calling) is hypnosis and transformation. I wanted to help people not just live as I was, but to thrive. I went to school, and I now have over 500 hours of training from a state licensed school. I am a certified, clinical transpersonal hypnotherapist and am a member of The International Association of Interpersonal Hypnotherapists (IAIH) in good standing.
When I started school, I had a vision of what I thought hypnosis would be and that I would learn inductions and scripts. I was thankfully so mis-guided! I learned so much more than I ever thought was possible. And in this learning process, I experienced the most incredible transformation. I no longer feel like I am surviving from one day to the next; I feel alive in the most fundamental way, and it has been totally liberating. I am excited by what is unfolding, and I want to share this with others. My training, experience and strong belief about hypnotherapy is that it is not a panacea, but it is a viable and powerful tool for change. Walk with me and let’s experience your transformation together.
